Welcome to the AEGON Citizen Action Network!
The AEGON Citizen Action Network, or AEGON CAN for short, is a new grassroots initiative designed to make it easy for agents and employees of AEGON Group companies in the U.S. to learn about the federal and state legislative issues impacting AEGON, and to become more directly involved in the legislative and political process.
Through this site you can:
Do you wonder why we sometimes ask you to get involved in a legislative issue, when that may not be your everyday job? For two reasons. First, as an AEGON employee or agent, you do have a vested interest in those legislative issues impacting AEGON, its customers or products. Second, the simple fact is that your elected official represents you and wants to know what you think. For all the persuasive arguments our full-time advocates in Washington make, a key motivation for an elected official to cast a vote is what he or she thinks the voters back home want to happen. That’s why it’s important to register to vote, turn out on Election Day, and make your voice heard during the legislative process.
This site is designed for you, so let us know what you think and what other information you would like to see here. We encourage you to stop by often to see the latest news from Washington and to get involved whenever you feel led to do so. If you have any questions or comments, you can contact Jeanne de Cervens at (410) 576-4529 or jdecervens@aegonusa.com
